What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is celebrated world-wide as a day to support charity. It takes place on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday (1 December in 2020) and is a great way to give back after all that shopping!
The #GivingTuesday movement encourages anyone and everyone to donate time, money or their voice to help a good cause. Globally, the biggest brands, charities and celebrities are joined by hundreds of thousands of people to support worthy causes.
Educational Game in a Nutshell
Proud moment! Our educational cancer app concept made it into the top 600 (out of 2400+ applications worldwide) ideas at Slingshot – a start-up competition in Singapore!
This game is played on a mobile app and links in with the Cancer Smart School Programme. This educational game is full of “challenges” to get as cancer smart as possible. It can be played as an individual, class groups or as competitions between schools.
Students will learn:
- Where can I find help if I am diagnosed with cancer?
- How can I support a family member or friend that is diagnosed with cancer?
- How my healthy lifestyle will lower my risk of getting cancer.
- How early detection increases the chance to survive cancer.
- What can I do in my community to educate and raise awareness?
How you can give on Giving Tuesday
We need funds to get the prototype for the game developed. With the prototype we can approach donors and sponsors easier because the prototype will explain our fantesticle idea better. Donate to our fundraiser or start your own fundraiser.
Important: Love Your Nuts can issue tax certificates for your donations.
We are looking for a profit-sharing partnership with companies to get this app developed. A partnership with life insurances, medical aids and/or information technology companies will be a fantesticle match and of mutual benefit. We like to hear from you!
